The Small Project FurniFlex aims not only to develop a new product but also to set new standards in the furniture industry through a combination of ecological awareness, technological innovations and adaptable design.

The Small Project will introduce furniture that is not only environmentally friendly but also adaptable to the needs of end-users, particularly Generation Z, as well as to people with certain disabilities while simultaneously reducing the ecological footprint and improving furniture accessibility.

The Small Project is expected to bring significant changes to the current situation in the furniture market, including raising awareness of the importance of sustainable products, increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) involved in the Small Project.

FurniFlex promotes inclusivity, sustainability and technological innovation in the global furniture market.

The Small Project addresses current gaps in the market by offering a tailored, immersive and smart travel assistant that meets the evolving needs of modern travellers and provides authentic, personalized travel experiences that differentiate from existing tourist solutions.

GObyLOCAL app is specially adapted to different new markets, use of AI technologies, focus on authenticity, cross-border partnership and commitment to enhancing both the tourist experience and local economies differentiate it from existing tourist solutions.

2024-SPA1-015_Development and Deployment of a NEXT- generation GEOinformatics Service in Cross Border Areas for Improved Spatial Planning
GeoNext

The main concept of the GeoNext Small Project is to raise competitiveness of the three involved small and micro companies supporting the spatial planning industry, each bringing in specific expertise in different domains.

The final output will be joint development of a novel GIS based automated spatial planning solution used in daily operations for improved service provision for data acquisition, data processing and visualisation through cutting-edge geoportal software.

It will be used internally as a tool by all project partners to improve the process of producing geodetic situation plans and performing cadastral/infrastructure mapping as a quality basemap for high quality spatial planning.

The second outcome of the GeoNext Small Project is enhancing the technical capabilities of the companies in the IPA area by acquiring modern, highly specialized equipment to fully support the implementation of the new GIS solution.

WoMeCom

The company Medex produces metal parts for the furniture and furnishing industry and they are motivated to create one palette or a set of finished products – a chair, a bench and a table, as a set of products with different design solutions and modular metal construction.

The company Reflex already has a huge experience in the field of making molded plywood, which needs to be upgraded with the new technology of gluing HPL foil on raw blanks, which will result in an innovation in the process sense.

The challenge within this WoMeCom Small Project is placing the HPL foil on the raw blank molded plywood and its further processing and obtaining finished parts of chairs (in the form of seats), table tops or bench seats.

The goal is to create an innovative, attractive, modern, functional and environmentally friendly set of products. Target users are commercial customers in the field of food/catering industry, healthcare, education and other commercial industries, as well as individual customers and households.

The overall objective of the Small Project is to implement a highly accurate, low-cost geospatial monitoring system that enhances disaster risk management and agricultural efficiency across the region.

The expected change includes improved safety through better landslide monitoring, as well as increased agricultural productivity through optimized irrigation and pesticide management.

The ISOC for RIC Small Project addresses the increasing threat of cybercrime targeting critical infrastructure in the region, having in mind that many organizations in the programme area lack the resources and expertise to defend against sophisticated cyber-attacks.

The main objective of the Small Project is to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of SMEs through reducing the impact of cybercrime on business operations in the programme area by establishing an international Security Operations Center (SOC) network.

As a result of the Small Project, significant reduction in cyber crime risks is expected, faster response to reduce or detect cyber crime, as well as improvement in cyber protection of critical sectors and formation of a unique service by which business entities meet the conditions for obtaining ISO 27001 standards.

The PnZEBH Small Project addresses the high carbon footprint of traditional construction, particularly in suburban, rural and environmentally sensitive areas.

With a focus on sustainable practices, it aligns with the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), emphasizing energy efficiency. The goal is to pioneer prefabricated houses with a low energy consumption, that with recycling and repurposing of sustainable materials used in construction can become part of circular economy cycle at the end of its lifetime use.

By developing a prototype that meets nearly Zero-Energy Building (nZEB) standards, the Small Project aims to set a new benchmark for sustainable construction. It will significantly reduce the environmental impact of construction, promote greener building standards, and encourage the adoption of sustainable practices across the construction industry.

The Small Project will introduce an innovative, energy-efficient prefabricated wooden house that uses CNC-cut OSB3, OSB4 and plywood panels, mechanically joined without adhesives or synthetic materials. This construction method is novel within the EU and Western Balkans, offering a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional prefabrication practices.

The main goal of the AROMA KISS Small Project is creating new market opportunities for aromatherapy products by productive investments.

The end customers of aromatherapy products will benefit from this Small Project because they will receive 100 % natural products at affordable market prices, harmless to human skin and a carefully balanced formula based on first-class world scientific research.

As a result of the Small Small Project, the existing production line of aromatherapy products will be upgraded, the new automatic production line will raise production of aromatherapy products by at least 50%.

Also, successful entry into new markets is expected through the opening of new distribution channels. The newly established distribution channels in Bosnia and Herzegovina will include herbal pharmacies, pharmacies, medical institutions, wholesalers and wellness centres both independently and within hotel chains.

By developing an innovative, all-in-one FinTech solution, CashVault will provide an affordable, multifunctional self-service kiosk that streamlines financial transactions and service delivery, reducing operational costs and reliance on fluctuating labour availability.

The main goal of the Small Project is to enhance growth and competitiveness of the Small Project consortium by developing a new FinTech solution for private and public service sectors by providing an all-in-one product for automation of financial transaction and provision of services in areas where significant shortage of labour is present or is not financially viable.

The “companiESGuide” Small Project aims to enhance the sustainable growth and competitiveness of small enterprises in the cross-border area. It addresses the challenges companies face in meeting sustainability regulations like ESG and CSRD reporting.

The Small Project will develop a new product (“companiESGuide“) for ESG reporting – a web platform for self-assessment, an adaptable non-financial reporting template, a 40-hour educational program and a marketing strategy for the new product.

By providing practical tools and training, “companiESGuide” helps businesses align with sustainable development principles, fostering regional cooperation and sustainability. The product is unique in combining education, self-assessment and reporting solutions.

The “companiESGuide” framework is adaptable to meet regional and international reporting obligations and aligned with the requirements of regulators, financial institutions, best sustainable reporting practices and the specifics of individual industries.

The new solution will streamline communication, ensuring that all guest interactions are addressed and eliminating the reliance on human factors to pass on information. Key stakeholders will collaborate to create a user-focused system.

This will improve digitalization, competitiveness and sustainability in tourism businesses, particularly in cross-border areas, while contributing to economic and social development. This involves a multichannel (omnichannel) module that provides unified communication between guests and users of the module (e.g., travel agencies, hospitality and hotel establishments, etc.), as well as third parties (e.g., maintenance services).

It aims to create eco-friendly, AI-powered self-check-in points made from natural materials, which will streamline hotel check-ins, reduce energy consumption, and improve guest satisfaction. The system incorporates NFC technology, AI document scanning and solar-powered options to optimize hotel operations and reduce environmental impact.

By enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability, this Small Project will benefit hotel owners, guests, and the environment, while fostering cross-border cooperation among regional partners. By digitizing the check-in process with NFC technology, the Small Project will bring hotels into the digital age, reducing reception congestion and offering guests a smoother check-in experience as well as decrease the carbon footprint of hotels and reduce energy usage.
