On July 31, 2025 – The Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Nataša Mikuš Žigman, the President of the Management Board of HAMAG-BICRO Vjeran Vrbanec and the Deputy President of the Management Bord Ante-Janko Bobetko, signed a contract worth EUR 10.8 million for the implementation of the strategic B Light 2 project. The project is carried out under the Interreg VI-A Hungary – Croatia cross-border cooperation program 2021-2027.
The B Light 2 project is a continuation of the successful B Light project from the previous financial perspective, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the border area of Croatia and Hungary. This will be achieved by encouraging innovation, sustainable growth, and long-term economic development through cross-border cooperation.
The implementation of the B Light 2 strategic project began on August 1, 2025. The total value of the project is EUR 10.8 million, of which EUR 8.63 million is co-financed by European Union funds.
HAMAG-BICRO is the leading partner in the project, alongside four Croatian and three Hungarian development agencies as territorial partners. Small and medium-sized enterprises participate as so-called light partners, implementing joint innovation projects to promote cross-border economic cooperation.
Strategic support for SMEs
The B Light 2 project will provide direct financial support through Calls for Light projects, expected to be announced at the beginning of 2026. A total of EUR 7.5 million will be allocated to SMEs for the implementation of innovation projects, with 80% co-financing from the EU.
